Thoughts on Living

"Give yourself fully to God.  He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your own weakness."  -Mother Teresa

I think the most beautiful lives are the ones that were spent wholeheartedly loving and living for God.

The Lord keeps teaching me how much He loves me.... how very much He loves me.  I have been saved, and when my time in this life is finished, I'm going to see the Father in Heaven.  Honestly, thinking of that day brings me so much hope and joy! In the mean time, I'm in this life, and I am to live the way God has instructed in His Word.  Jesus said that if I love Him, I will obey Him. Certainly I make mistakes, but He forgives me when I ask, and will help me get back up & continue in the right direction.  :-)

'Then Jesus said, "Take up your cross, and follow Me.  If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it.  But if you give up your life for My sake, you will save it." '  Matthew 16:24-25

This is about giving my life.... day by day... and living for Jesus instead of for myself. This is what God calls us to.  He saves us through grace.... and He instructs us to come with Him.  I am learning.  :-)

This morning I turned to 2 Peter chapter 1, and found something that really hit home.  Here's a piece of my journal:

".....applying all diligence"
In my faith, take it one step further & add moral excellence.
And in my moral excellence, take it one step further & add knowledge.
And in my knowledge, take it one step further & add self-control.
And in my self-control, take it one step further & add perseverance.
And in my perseverance, take it one step further & add godliness.
And in my godliness, take it one step further & add brotherly kindness.
And in my brotherly kindness, take it one step further & add love. (verses 5-7 in my words)
"For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." (verse 8)
